Inspired by China ink comics, the images in the Cross-country series seek to represent the sensation of the landscape one traverses.

Over the course of these snapshots taken from the handlebars, grouped together in contact sheets in a very contrasting black and white, the brutality of the road freezes.

By reducing the images to the essential with a distinct graphic design, each set presents the fleeting nature of the photographic composition and gives the story of the adventure as a watermark. A faithful transcription of the lingering mental image of the moving landscape is then sketched out.

This series is part of the PAYSAGE (?) Exhibition produced by Fermé Le Lundi, in Marseille from March 3 to June 2, 2021.
